Keeping Busy

I've been neglecting this blog lately,

it's true.

I am sorry. I have been busy. 

On top of some ruthless sewing,

a nice batch of viral (read: the non-responsive to antibiotics kind) pink eye, 

a chest cold that is threatening to turn into bronchitis,

and a severe allergic reaction to a few fire ant bites

me and Photoshop: We have become besties.

Well, kind of. It's still a tenuous relationship, at best.

Nonetheless, I've been up to my eyeballs in photo editing. 

I've finished all of Reece's photos, and moved on to pictures from

Rachel+John's Wedgagement shoot this past weekend.

Easy Like Sunday Morning: Kevin+Liz

 I was given the chance to assist Jessica of Jessica Monnich Photography for Kevin and Liz's laid back Sunday wedding and as I watched the couple interact with those around them I knew that these were two amazing people. It was impossible not to smile when you were near them.  Their wedding day was abuzz with laughter, smiles, and heart-swelling love.  And best of all, it seemed effortless.  Liz kept cool all day and Kevin couldn't stop cracking jokes.  I'm certain theirs is an easy kind of love.  Easy like Sunday morning...

I focused mainly on capturing the details of their day while Jessica worked away at portraiture.  The styling was reflective of Liz and Kevin. Chuck Taylors. Apple computers. Tiger Swallowtails. Gorgeous colors. Laid back style.

 Kevin, you're hilarious.  I mean f-u-n-n-y.

Liz, you're stunning. 

I mean g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s.

This shot is straight-out-of-camera and is by far my favorite from the day. Liz, I mean it. You're beautiful.  This shot is so you.  Pretty. Real. A little mischievous. Happy.

A tiger swallowtail  landed in Liz's bouquet just as we were about to wrap shooting.  A perfect moment, for a perfect wedding day.

Last night I had the pleasure

of hanging out with my dear friend

A Wimberley Wedding : Melissa and Josef

I met Melissa a few months ago, just after I had moved to Austin.  She works for the same company that I do, but in a different division.  We hit it off instantly, and began working together on a weekly basis.  

She had mentioned the idea of getting engaged to her (then) boyfriend of two years, Josef, on an upcoming cruise.  I told her, jokingly, that if she was gettin' hitched, she best book me as her wedding photographer.

All joking aside, Josef planted a giant rock on a very important finger, and Melissa made sure I was free on November 13th.  

And that my shutter finger was ready.

Mel, you're radiant.  And your wedding day was a shining example of your exquisite beauty.

Tina and Brian: The Details

This is my girlfriend Tina. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding 5.5 years ago.

She was this stunning then, too.

She got married on Saturday to her best friend.

A man that makes her smile like this.

All day long.

Her dress was magnificent.

Lace up back.

Crystal details.

Pleating.

Yards and yards of creamy satin.

Her flowers:

I love the Rosary tied to the boquet stem.

A tiny detail.

Transforming a standard Nosegay boquet into something more.

Meaningful

Unique.

There was a gorgeous sunlight patio just outside one of the rooms of the church.

I'm so happy to have spotted it

(and extremely bummed the PAID photographer didn't find it!)
